The candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen with an Active DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance (TS). Must be willing to take a CI Poly once employed. Must have an active Security + certification or be willing to obtain once employed. The candidate must be in the Denver/Northern Colorado area and be able to work from the office in Westminster or Longmont 3 days/week, 2 days can work remotely from home. - 2 open roles - one is a Sr. Network Engineer (this person needs to be able to take project specs/constraints and RUN with it w/ minimal hand-holding) and one mid level role Network Engineer MUST HAVE
- Core Network Engineering Experience within Juniper networking environments
- Experience with Network Protocols including BGP, EVPN (ethernet VPN), VXLAN (Virtual eXtensible Local-Area Network) must be OK with working occasional off-hours / weekend on call work (probably once a month) The Customer went private last year to an equity company. They split Space and Intelligence however all common services (IT, finance, accounting, etc.) still serve both organizations.
This team is specifically for project- based network engineering across the organization.
This could include tech refreshes, new location network build outs, datapath re-architecture, network improvement projects, greenfield setups, etc. This team gets the opportunity to work on exciting problems and project-based work. This is the "Plan and Build" network engineering team. They do not usually do ticket-based work or the "Run" / operations side of networking. They have a separate team for that. In addition to the job description below the candidate should have strong communication skills and ability to work well with others. They also must be able to work independently on occasion after given specs or directions with minimal hand-holding. Job Description
Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting and advancing a hybrid network architecture with both on-premise and cloud-based resources. This position is for Westminster, Colorado or Longmont, CO with the potential for up to 20% travel to other sites.
Job Details

• Support the implementation and operation of WAN infrastructure: point-to-point, multi-point WAN connectivity, dedicated leased lines to various customers, VPN links to various customers and remote sites.

• Support the implementation and operation of LAN infrastructure at datacenters, branch offices, and critical operations centers.

• Participate in the development and implementation of the AWS Cloud infrastructure and be able to collaborate and work across teams

• Troubleshoot and modify the operation of the network-based portion of the security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IDP, and VPN

• Implement security process improvements in conjunction with Network Security personnel
Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Must have an active/current security clearance with required Polygraph

• Willing and able to obtain CompTIA Security + or equivalent certification

• Requires 8+ years' experience administering LANs and WANs (data, voice) in a complex operational environment with high uptime requirements

• Knowledge of data / IP networking and protocols (e.g., VXLAN/EVPN, BGP, OSPF, GRE, TCP, FTP, DNS)

• 5+ years experience with Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls

• 5+ years experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls

• 5+ years experience creating and maintaining documentation of solutions

• Experience creating and maintaining monitoring in a large-scale enterprise environment

• Able to gather requirements, design and deliver solutions with minimum supervision

• Strong verbal and written communications skills, including creation of SOPs, maintenance plans, network drawings, etc.

• Strong analytical abilities

• Must possess a strong client focus

• Participation in on-call rotation, minimum onsite requirement 3 days / week.
Preferred Qualifications:

• Has CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification

• Experience with AWS VPCs, Customer Gateways, Direct Connects, VPN

• 3+ years with Aruba technologies (Mobility Conductor, ClearPass)

• Experience with F5 application load balancing technologies

• Experience with Infoblox (DNS, DHCP, NetMRI etc.)

• Knowledge and experience in the Agile framework and process

• Experience with network monitoring solutions / automation
