Network and Computer Systems Administrator with Security Clearance

JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Network and Computer Systems Administrator Location: 80% Remote, 20% Chicago, IL Introduction: Rivet Operations Company ("Rivet") has an opening for a Network and Computer Systems Administrator. This position will be in support of the U.S Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) providing IT Support Services. Rivet is an exceptional industry partner to the Department of Defense (DoD) and a leader in cyber security, IT management, logistics, supply chain management, process improvement and development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance: Provide network infrastructure support for all network components (wide area network) within RRB for all onsite/remote network topologies including, but not limited, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless network components. Perform and document hardware maintenance to keep the network environment operating within functional and design specifications. Perform hardware upgrades, system patches/update to include IOS upgrade, router/ switch configuration update, additional memory, and peripheral devices. Troubleshoot the environment to correct malfunctions and restore operations in coordination with Incident Management processes. Implement all relevant firmware upgrades and security patches. Monitor all network components including, but not limited to, routers, switches, firewall and wireless controllers to facilitate the early detection of incidents, impending outages, or degradations. Responsible for upgrades and enhancements to the network infrastructure equipment. Open-minded, leans forward, and does not hesitate to reach out to others for help. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: Associates degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.). Must be a U.S. Citizen and obtain and maintain the required security clearance for the position. Cisco Certified Network Professional CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) required. 2 years of general Windows Server Operating System experience with hands-on experience working and understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and DHCP. Experience with Azure virtual environment. Experience with Solarwinds and Cisco DNA Center. 5 years of experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine, Cisco VoIP infrastructure, and various other Cisco core switches and wireless systems. 5 years of experience in a Cisco network support environment. 5 years of experience performing hands-on implementation of Cisco firewalls (FPR 4112, FMC, ASA 5555) and related hardware and software. This includes installation, configuration (ACLs, NAT'ing, Site-to-site and remote Virtual Private Networks - VPNs), maintenance, troubleshooting, IOS upgrades and AnyConnect configuration. Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
