TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Network Administrator working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Network Administrator will be responsible for the installation, and maintenance of server hardware and software. The individual shall also be responsible for end-to-end infrastructure installation and support of LAN and WAN connectivity. The Network Administrator manages the distribution of data, reviews hardware and software systems compatibility, configures monitoring and auditing systems, and ensures logs and alerts are acted upon in support of the enterprise infrastructure. Providing technical guidance on the day-to-day administration, maintenance and operations for the company's enterprise is also a key function of the position. This individual will work in a team environment and collaborate with developers, management, and end users.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administering and Maintaining of all servers, including virus protection, system updates and other 3rd party applications
  • Administering and Maintaining External Security Appliances, including firewalls, spam protection, and web content filtering.
  • Maintaining Virtual Environments in multiple data centers and cloud environments including VMC, AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Maintaining Network Connectivity for LAN/WAN in various environments across various types of sites across the U.S. using site-to-site VPN technologies
  • Configuring and maintaining remote access with VPN and Remote Desktop Gateway Services
  • Configuring and maintaining load balancers and load balanced services
  • Configuring and maintaining network services protocols such as DHCP, DNS, NTP, etc
  • Maintaining Avaya IP Office and Avaya IP Phones
  • Working with Help Desk Support staff with escalated issues
  • Writing of scripts to streamline tasks.
  • System documentation.
  • Reviews application, system, and security logs on a regular basis.
  • Participation in staff meetings and possibly other company quality meetings.
  • Staying current with technology.
  • Design and time management of projects.
  • Maintaining software license compliance.
  • Inventory management.
  • On call rotation, which may include off-hour support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
