Job Description Summary
The NICU Respiratory Therapist assists with special projects, validations, and orientations. This position is responsible for having the knowledge and ability to train staff on all NICU equipment.
Job Description
Participates in new staff orientation and annual competency evaluations. Monitors employee validations to ensure completion.
Participates in creating and reviewing policies and procedures. Participates in department performance improvement programs and adjusts staff assignments for other staff's participation.
Provides staff development and improvement of clinical skills for clinical team.
Assists with event/incident reporting for both patients and employee safety occurrences. Reports issues/malfunctions to appropriate departments.
Functions as department supervisor in his/her absence.
Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.

Respiratory Therapist North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care Prior to Start Date HR Primary Sources
Respiratory Therapist Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Within 6 Months of Start Date HR Primary Sources
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) Within 90 Days of Start Date Learning Management System
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Within 6 Months of Start Date Learning Management System
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Within 6 Months of Start Date Learning Management System
