Navy Qualified Validator

Location: Newport, RI Required Clearance: Top Secret Summary/Objective KMS Solutions is seeking a highly motivated individual to join a team of engineers and technicians providing engineering and technical support to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport RI. This select team is responsible for providing systems engineering and cyber security services to NUWC. Our multi-disciplinary team is heavily involved assisting the U.S. Navy in development of new undersea weapons systems. Essential Functions
• Act as an independent third party who assesses and validates that a system has implemented the approved security control baseline.
• Responsible for assessing the system that is provided - not for developing the Security Authorization Package or engineering the system, that is required from the program/Information System Security Engineer.
• Utilize the Security Control Assessor as an advisor to assist in all matters of validation, documentation, vulnerability mitigation, and residual risk determination. Required Education and Experience:
• Current Secret clearance, with eligibility to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance
• Must be appointed as a Navy Qualified Validator Certification (NQV) in good standing.
• An Information Assurance certification in compliance with DoD 8570 (e.g., Security+) (IAT Level II) or (IAT Level III) is required.
• Two to five (2-5) years of practical experience in a Cybersecurity, Engineering, T&E or A&A related field.
• Experience independently performing the NQV activities defined in the Navy's Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process Guide (RPG).
• Access to/ Experience with DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) & Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) both NIPR and SIPR.
• Experience with IA / INFOSEC concepts and requirements: Firewall Policy, Ports & Protocols, Cybersecurity, DoD A&A processes and standards etc. Preferred Education and Experience:
• Bachelor of Science Degree or above in any field preferred
• Experience with DoD Navy Systems
• Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance Competencies:
• Ability to manage time well to meet assigned milestones

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a part time on call position to support surge efforts. The employee will support surge efforts as required. Travel: Up to 10% travel may be required.
