MTSS Intervention and Equity Data Specialist Reports to: Director of Exceptional Children Employment Status: Fulltime, hired through ESC-NEO Salary Range: $82,735-108,670 Full Time assigment: 201 prorated work days for Job Objective: to coordinate and ensure the implementation of an equity focused MTSS framework in each school building. Shaker Heights City School District is an International Baccalaureate (IB) District. All Shaker students receive the benefits of an IB Education. The District uses the IB framework to drive instructional practices and program decisions. The International Baccalaureate serves as a lever to further the attainment of educational equity. Essential Functions: Collaboratively identify data sources to assess student academic and social-emotional performance Ensure that student performance data is disaggregated by race, gender, socio-economic status, disability status as well as any other categories identified by ODEI Provide professional learning and technical support to building level instructional leadership teams to ensure their capacity to pull and disaggregate student performance data Develop a data analysis protocol for teams to use to analyze student data Provide library of evidence based instructional strategies to address student performance issues Develop practical system to integrate fidelity measures for interventions Support principal/designee in planning and conducting monthly student data review meetings by level Help design and implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports System (MTSS) that limits bias and implements culturally responsive practices Provides leadership which aligns with the goals in the District's Strategic Plan and Board-adopted Educational Equity Policy Participates as an active member of the administrative team Implements a strategy to ensure assigned tasks are completed within required time-frames Serves as an adviser to the superintendent. Attends board meetings as requested Promotes academic success as an important priority for all students Reconciles, prepares and articulates yearly department budget Collects paperwork for audits. Submits records to the district administrative office Aligns annual budget/appropriation measure recommendations with district goals Exemplifies professionalism and fosters goodwill to enhance the district's public image Cultivates relationships that promote a strong commitment of public support for the district Enforces/complies with board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures Maintains a professional appearance/Wears work attire appropriate for the position Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual Respects privacy and maintains the confidentiality of privileged information Prepares/maintains accurate records. Submits required paperwork on time Uses active listening/problem-solving techniques; Respects diversity; Resolves issues tactfully Works with staff to ensure shared resources are used effectively Participates in training to keep current with professional standards associated with work duties. Works toward mastery of individualized development/performance goals as directed Updates skills as needed to use available task-appropriate technology effectively Takes precautions to ensure safety. Initiates action to manage and eliminate risks Helps update/implement the district's emergency preparedness/crisis response plan Complies with District procedures and federal/state laws when dealing with discrimination and suspected child abuse/neglect Performs other specific job-related duties as directed Assists with unexpected/urgent situations as needed Implements workplace initiatives that advance district goals Qualifications: Experience with interpretation of educational data Experience with MultiTiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and/or Response to Intervention (RtI) programs strongly preferred Have and maintain the appropriate license from the Ohio Department of Education as required for the position Articulates a clear educational philosophy and sustainable program implementation strategy Available to work irregular hours/non-traditional when required Demonstrates skill in developing/managing people and a "hands-on" leadership style Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks Embodies high ethical standards/integrity; Accepts personal responsibility for decisions/conduct Exhibits effective time management and resourceful problem-solving skills Interacts confidently with others and displays a strong customer-service focus Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment Shows evidence of core computer competencies deemed appropriate at the time of hire.
