Job Title: MRI Tech Assistant FLSA Status: Non-exempt MRI Technician Assistant Physicians East PA, Arlington We are looking for an exceptional MRI Technician Assitant to join our family. Location & commitments FT role based at our Greenville (other) location, Monday-Friday, 7:30a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care of, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner. Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary. Supervision Received: Reports to Manager of Diagnostics Supervision Exercised: None. Typical Physical Demands: Work requires some sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and stretching may be required. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, copier, fax machine, and such other office equipment as necessary. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods and to work in an environment which may be challenging and fast-paced. Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. It involves frequent communication with patients and other staff members. Work may be fast-paced and stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. About the role: We are looking for an employee with exceptional interpersonal communication skills and can create a favorable impression for the organization to all staff, patients, and the public. You will become a supportive member of the MRI Department, responsible for administrative tasks and some clinical duties that directly impacts the efficiency of the department. Responsibilities: (This list may not include all the duties assigned.) Verifies diagnostic order and insurance authorizations. Ensures insurance waivers are available and signed by patients before their MRI procedure, as appropriate. Prints order requisitions and sends over to Radiology Tracking System. Evaluate MRI safety questions to ensure no contraindications for MRI. Assists patients with their safety questions and helps to secure belongings in dressing room lockers. Ensures applicable pre-testing labs are complete within an appropriate time frame. Maintains and updates information on daily schedules. Answers telephone, screen calls, takes messages, and documents information. Answers questions regarding patient appointments and testing. Ensures MRI Imaging reports are signed and routed appropriately to the ordering providers, following specific protocols for internal and external ordering providers. Greets patients upon entrance to the MRI suite and escorts patients back to lobby upon completion of exam. Assist technologists with getting patients on and off the exam table when needed. Assists with cleaning of dressing rooms and stocks linen in dressing rooms. Always maintains confidentiality. Adheres to department and company policies. Performs related work as assigned. Candidate requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent. Completion of a nursing attendant program, medical assisting program; computer experience required; Courses in medical terminology and clinical and diagnostic procedures are preferred. CPR certification required.
