Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Law & Motion Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment where you will play a key role in shaping the outcomes of complex legal proceedings. The successful candidate will enjoy a hybrid schedule with low billables, providing the flexibility to manage your work-life balance. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in a diverse range of legal tasks, including drafting motions, motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, and conducting legal research.

Responsibilities:

As a Motion Attorney, your core responsibilities will include:

1. Drafting, reviewing, and editing motions, including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment.
2. Conducting comprehensive and accurate legal research to support case strategies.
3. Drafting oppositions to various motions and appeals.
4. Preparing and drafting legal briefs and memoranda for both trial and appellate courts.
5. Representing the organization in court hearings and other legal proceedings.
6. Collaborating with other attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies.
7. Ensuring all legal documents and procedures comply with state and federal laws and court procedures.
8. Staying updated on current laws, court decisions, and other legal developments that may affect the organization's interests.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this role, you must have:

1. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar.
3. A minimum of 3 years' experience as a law and motion attorney.
4. Extensive experience in drafting motions, motions to dismiss, and motions for summary judgment.
5. Proven ability to draft compelling legal briefs and memoranda.
6. Strong legal research skills and familiarity with legal research tools.
7. Experience in state and federal courts, including appellate courts.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
11. Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
