We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Mining Engineer for our Surface Mine operations, This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise, innovative problem-solving skills, and passion for mining in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. This role is critical to our ongoing success and growth, as you will be responsible for planning, designing, and monitoring all aspects of our surface mining operations. You will also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with our sales team to drive business growth and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have surface drilling and blasting experience, and will be comfortable working in the field (60%).

RELOCATION is available for candidates who live out of state.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
1. Plan, design, and monitor surface mining operations to ensure optimal extraction of resources while maintaining safety and environmental standards.
2. Utilize your expertise in drilling and blasting to optimize our mining processes and increase efficiency.
3. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential risks or areas for improvement.
4. Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex mining challenges.
5. Collaborate with our sales team to develop strategies for business growth and profitability.
6. Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to stakeholders.
7. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mining engineers and other team members.
8. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in surface mining and apply this knowledge to our operations.
9. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including those related to safety, environmental protection, and resource management.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in surface mining operations, with a strong focus on drilling and blasting.
3. Proven track record of successfully planning, designing, and monitoring surface mining operations.
4. Strong technical knowledge of mining methods, equipment, and software.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.
6. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to a variety of audiences.
7. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
8. Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
9. Proficiency in relevant software applications, including CAD and mine planning software.
10. Professional Engineering (PE) certification is a plus.
