The Mine Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all mining activities to meet or exceed mining production and ore control objectives while supervising crews at the site. Essential Job Functions: Direct supervision of the Mining crew and assigning daily tasks Ensure all mining personnel and contractors work in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, company policies, standards, and procedures Coordinate the mine's resources - people, equipment, consumables, and facilities to meet production targets Ensure timely and proper reporting to all regulatory agencies, including TDEC and MDEQ Complete all forms necessary for new, renewal, or modification of mining permits Interact with government agencies during site visits and inspections Ensure ore is being mined according to the mine plan and high standards for ore control are maintained Coordinate with Corporate Mine Planning in the development of the site mine plan and exploration drilling strategies Conduct on-site drilling to evaluate ore for production Update mine maps and pit progression in AutoCaD or similar software while utilizing drone flights and GPS technology Perform routine inspection of all machinery, equipment, and the mine site Perform daily pre-shift briefings including safety and production topics Meet performance metrics and communicate data to both the mining crew and staff at daily meeting Conduct workplace exams and safety compliance audits Meet operating budget for Mining Department Ensure accurate payroll entries and approval of timecards Manage crew scheduling to meet demand Maintain safe and productive condition on haul roads and in mine floor Enter fault reports into JDE and coordinate with Maintenance for timely repairs on mobile and fixed equipment Other duties as assigned Required Education, Experience, and Skills: 5+ years in a mining environment 5+ years of supervision experience Experience around the operation of mobile equipment Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or similar software Experience dealing with government agencies U.S. Silica is an equal opportunity employer for all without regard to race, gender, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
