GreenWood, Inc., is now actively recruiting Millwright Journeyperson for its Greer, SC, location. Employees normally work 40 hours per week, 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. We are currently looking for applicants who are interested in a position without the need to travel. GreenWood does not offer per diem at this job site, but does offer paid vacation and holiday time for those who qualify. The Millwright Journeyperson is responsible for installing machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in an industrial environment. GreenWood is a direct hire open shop contractor using its own employees to manage and execute virtually all work. Our personnel are highly skilled and experienced. Responsibilities Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in an industrial environment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails using hand tools and power tools and fastens them to foundation or other structure Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs May operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications May repair and lubricate machines and equipment Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Four (4) years of experience in millwright processes and equipment Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with a focus on quantity and quality Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Ability to demonstrate a high level of customer service and strong communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills Ability to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job with minimal direct supervision Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
