Process Engineer
The process engineer position is responsible for developing and implementing technical and administrative direction at the plant along with development and implementation of a technical plan to improve operations.?Assume a strong leadership role. Actively participate in professional development to assume positions of managerial responsibility.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

Direct technical objectives to safely achieve a high degree of shop uptime, maximum operation efficiency, equipment availability and cost efficiencies to promote profitability.

Serve as an active member of the team and contribute towards department success.

Develop, implement, manage, and communicate the technical plan and revise as appropriate.

Direct the technical work to achieve business targets including those identified.

Recommend and implement improvements to operational efficiency and plant profitability

Support budget development, management and execution. Provide input for the monthly expenditure forecasts.

Develop and implement standard safe work procedures to improve shop uptime, reduce costs and improve operational efficiency and productivity/output.

Promote a culture of continuous process improvements and proactively identify opportunities.

Develop positive relationships with the shop floor while working effectively with the shop floor to improve operations.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor of Science degree in Materials, Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years' experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment preferred.

Working Conditions

Steel Plant environment including working out of doors, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas.

Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs.

Work in and around high voltage electrical equipment and high noise areas.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed shoes, hardhats, and eye and hearing protection.
