Mercy Flights is accepting applications for a MIH Assistant Healthcare Worker.


The Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) Assistant provides high quality, friendly customer service and professional support to external customers while acting in a support role and team member of the Mobile Integrated Healthcare staff. This position is responsible for facilitating communications and logistics for the Mobile Integrated Healthcare department by receiving and transmitting non-emergent information via radio, computer, and telephone.


Position Information:

  • Hours: 40 hours/week (non-exempt), Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Starting Pay rate: market comparable (Depending on Qualifications)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides high quality, friendly customer service and professional support to external customers of the Mobile Integrated Healthcare program
  • Responsible for initial telephonic outreach and intake interviews for M.I.H. patients
  • Accountable for scheduling patients for initial and follow up visits
  • Responsible for data entry into different Electronic Health Records
  • Manage patient triage and assignment functions of the Mobile Integrated Healthcare department in conjunction with the M.I.H. Manager
  • Utilize authorized software to access patient records, create reports, and audit charts under the supervision of the M.I.H. Manager
  • Responsible for dispatching, tracking, and entering data in the Computer Aided Dispatch (C.A.D.) system for the MIH department
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, company policies, standard operating procedures
  • Work attendance and punctuality is an essential component of this job. Adherence to the company's established attendance policy is critical to ensure services to the community
  • Complete required education for the program as assigned
  • Participate in activities that promote the Mobile Integrated Healthcare program and the organization.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • One (1) year experience working in an office or healthcare environment is required
  • Experience in dispatch is preferred
  • Community Health Worker certificate (within one year of acceptance)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office including word, excel, outlook and web based applications
  • Keyboarding proficiency
  • Requires analytical and organizational skills required to effectively respond to, track, and document activities related to the MIH department
  • Requires the ability to guide patients with compassion and respect
  • Requires the ability to perform and evaluate basic social determinant needs for patients entering the MIH program
  • Ability to function professionally, calmly and effectively in a high functioning, fast paced, and stressful environment.
