This is an exciting time for Credit Acceptance, as we transform the way that we work to drive big innovation in the auto financing industry. As a Product Owner, you will be an integral member driving this transformation. You will work on complex initiatives at the intersection of finance and technology, developing products that change peoples' lives.

The Product Owner role is a highly collaborative leader and expert in their domain, working closely with cross-functional teams to determine which customer needs should be addressed and shape how we address them. You will gather requirements from customers and business stakeholders, and partner closely with Engineering teams to translate them to technical requirements that enable development of new products and features. It is your responsibility to ensure the products that we build solve for the most important customer needs in the most effective way.

Outcomes and Activities:

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
  • Act as the "voice of the customer" on the development team by representing and reinforcing the customer's perspective and needs throughout product development cycles.
  • Leverage feedback and research to understand our customers' needs to ensure we remain focused on work that increases the value and usability of our products.
  • Collaborate with product leaders, stakeholders, and PMO/Technical leaders to prioritize and maintain the product roadmap based on changing requirements and value delivery.
  • Partner with a cross-functional team of product managers, analysts, architects, engineers, testers, and others to maintain the product backlog and execute against the product roadmap.
  • Craft features and develop user stories in partnership with product managers, engineers, QA, and others.
  • Monitor and evaluate product progress at each state of the process. This includes user acceptance testing and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Liaising with the product team and end users or stakeholders to deliver updates - release notes, product news, and product demos.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with subject matter experts, analysts, and technology teams across Credit Acceptance in order to support our products.

Collaborates effectively with technical and design teams to deliver amazing products to market efficiently with quality. Deeply understands end-to-end platforms and how changes impact the enterprise, applications and the overall technical ecosystem.
  • Transformational Leader: Communicates, partners and influences across teams to deliver winning product experiences and outcomes. Serves as the visionary to set vision and direction across teams. Creates deep partnerships and trust through transparency and inspires partners to collaborate and win together. Embraces change and guides others in managing the impact of change.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role. (Mid Level)
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role. (Senior)
  • 4+ years of experience in a related product/industry. (Mid Level)
  • 8+ years of experience in a related product/industry. (Senior)
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams to deliver innovative digital products.
  • In-depth knowledge of scrum and agile software development methodology.
  • Proven ability to scope and author comprehensive business and technical product requirements.
  • Strong analytic skills and instinct for success measurement/monitoring of delivered products.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Understanding of design quality standards and user-centered design principles.
  • Deeply curious, open-minded, and creative thinker who loves to explore new areas and determine opportunities and recommend solutions.
  • Strong ability to communicate clear and consistent direction to team members, and to lead, motivate, and supervise project and/or working teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or an analytical field.
  • Experience and understanding of consumer auto financing (or similar credit/lending business).
  • Experience developing fintech products.

Targeted Compensation: $126,000 - $192,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan.

This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b/ H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
