The preferred candidate will have an educational background in civil engineering, with a geotechnical or geological emphasis; interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, skills; and will be a proactive problem solver. This position offers the opportunity to work with, learn from, and be mentored by senior engineering staff while executing the following roles/responsibilities: Your Impact Wil work under the direction and mentorship of Senior Engineers Provide engineering field support, analysis, and design, to support WSP's clients Participate in planning and implementation of civil/geotechnical investigations and design activities Support engineering analyses and deliverables with software applications Will have the opportunity to develop skills in project management including scope, budget, schedule, and resource management Be key member of project teams, ensuring the technical quality of deliverables Write proposals and reports Travel to project sites in New Mexico and the Western US. Approximately 20% overnight travel Who You Are Required Qualifications B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering EIT required with plan to acquire PE registration in 1 to 2 years 5 - 7 years + experience in civil/geotechnical engineering Strong academic background and solid understanding of geotechnical engineering Understanding of drilling methods, field investigations, and laboratory testing procedures Communication, writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills Superior time management, planning, and ability to interact with clients AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus Ability and willingness to work in the office and field to support civil/geotechnical/environmental projects across the Southwest US Must pass drug test, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
