The Miami Cancer Institute (MCI), a free-standing outpatient "clinical academic" cancer center in the southwest section of Miami-Dade County, seeks medical oncologists to join our well-established medical staff of over 100 sub-specialized physicians. Due to its increasing reputation for clinical expertise, innovation, clinical research, and outstanding patient and employee experience, the Miami Cancer Institute has a dynamic strategic growth plan. We are excited to consider candidates for the following roles:

  • Subchief of Thoracic Medical Oncology (Academic Track)
  • Subchief of Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology (Academic Track)
  • Academic Track or Clinical Track Gynecologic Medical Oncologist
  • Clinical Track generalist Medical Oncologist

The successful Subchief candidates will have at least 4 years of experience and at least 25 publications.

  • MCI, a state-of-the-art 395,000 square foot Institute on the campus of Baptist Hospital of Miami, serves the local and regional communities, the Southeastern region of the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Baptist Health South Florida, one of the most financially secure health systems in the United States, opened the Miami Cancer Institute in January 2017.
  • MCI has 68 infusion rooms and offers all Radiation Oncology modalities, including a showcase Proton Therapy Center, Gamma Knife, CyberKnife, Tomotherapy, Brachytherapy and the nation's second MR-Linac.
  • MCI enjoys a deep and functional alliance with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, based on shared standards of care and shared clinical trials, as well as planned future collaborations.
  • Additionally, we have a new graduate medical education partnership with Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Internal medicine and surgical residencies are slated to open in 2025 and a hematology/oncology fellowship to follow in 2027.
  • MCI is accredited through AAHRPP and our clinical trials division has a staff of 135+. Translational research relationships are available through Memorial Sloan Kettering or Florida International University.
