As a Metrologist at Canam Bridges, you will be responsible for taking factory measurements using "Station Total" and "Laser Tracker Faro" surveying tools. Your analytical mind will allow you to use your 3D vision superpowers to complete dimensional measurements. To break your routine, you will alternate between taking factory measurements, recording data, and writing reports. Your computer knowledge will make you an expert in AutoCAD and Polyworks. Job Description

Assist Plant Manager and production staff in developing production plans, ensure production objectives are met, offer recommendations, and implement production events and programs. The Metrologist is responsible for performing such work consistent with the company's corporate mission, values, and departmental financial objectives.

Essential Functions

Assist in the production-planning process, schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

Read and analyze data, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production productivity and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.

Identify direct and indirect labor issues and production problems, make recommendations, and assist management in developing a corrective action plan.

Compile production planning notes, sketches, prints, schedules, contract documents and specifications into a formal build plan.

Aid in the detailing and manipulation of models to accommodate additional views for fabrication per planning session. Assist on designing fixtures and jigs to aid fabrication.

Responsible for conventional and CNC machining, to include managing direct labor to accomplish coverage on equipment in support of production needs.

Train and assist production members in the operation of conventional and CNC machining equipment in line with formal build plans.

Perform other job duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
