JOB SUMMARY: The Metrologist will assist in providing all product teams and manufacturing with comprehensive quality support related to process and product specifications, per customer requirements, automotive industry standards, and company quality standards. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilize proven measurement systems and practices to: Develop and apply quality procedures and work instructions for the Metrology team. Perform product dimensional layout inspections and PPAP related inspections. Complete inspection and SPC requirements in compliance with IATF standards and SRI business system requirements Perform incoming material inspections and testing on component parts, to assess compliance with product drawings, specifications, and inspection plans. Create and maintain complete and accurate quality records. Coordinate supplier discrepancy management with Supplier Quality and related engineering departments Work with Supplier Quality to ensure proper disposition of suspect component parts found in Receiving Inspection. Perform MSA studies and product capability studies. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE: The ideal candidate will have:
•High-school diploma or GED 2 years experience as an Associate Metrologist or 3 years experience as an inspector with process inspection training Advanced ability to use coordinate measuring machine and similar measurement equipment/techniques Proven to be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised or managed Basic knowledge of SPC, blueprint interpretation, geometric tolerancing and ability to complete layout inspections Be able to lift 45 pounds Proven to be a team player and/or leader Be able to work in an environment with moderate noise, near moving mechanical parts, and with exposure to risk of electrical shock. Be able to regularly talk, listen, sit, stand; occasionally walk, use hands, reach with arms; use close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception and adjust visual focus LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This role is based in Lexington, OH and would require minimal to no travel.
