The Behavioral Health Specialist II provides behavioral health services to district students referred for assessment and assistance with the goal of facilitating and promoting appropriate behavioral health and personal growth. The Behavioral Health Specialist II identifies the behavioral health needs of students and develops therapy goals and objectives for implementation through an individual therapy plan. The Behavioral Health Specialist II has the ability to be flexible under pressure and adapts to interruptions and changes efficiently. The Behavioral Health Specialist II provides direction to and oversight of pre-licensed Behavioral Health Specialists. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential in school counseling, school psychology, or social work
• Master's Degree in behavior analysis, psychology, counselor education, or related field
• Three (3) years' experience providing mental health therapy services or counseling and guidance support in a California school district, county office of education or county mental health authority
• Three (3) years' experience in the behavioral health plan process (including direct services, developing and monitoring behavioral support plans treatment plans, monitoring progress, termination of services)
• Two (2) years' experience providing training to parents, school district staff, and/or community-based organizations
• Valid California Board of Behavioral Sciences Examiners (BBSE) Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Marriage Family Therapist Intern (MFT Intern) license or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or license in psychology, or working under supervision of a licensed psychologist, both regulated by the Board of Psychology, within the Department of Consumer Affairs. THE MT. DIABLO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT is a K-12 school district located in Concord, California serving the educational needs of over 31,000 students, and an additional 10,000 adult students. The district covers over 150 square miles, including the cities of Concord, Pleasant Hill, Clayton; portions of Walnut Creek, Martinez, and unincorporated areas including Lafayette, Pacheco, Pittsburg, and Bay Point.
