Job Responsibilities With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina. This position is located at the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, Berkeley Community Mental Health Center, 403 Stoney Landing Road, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Under general supervision you will be responsible to perform semi-routine or diversified counseling and case management functions for individuals with behavioral and/or emotional mental health issues. Assists in developing and implementing treatment plans. Guides clients in the development of skills or strategies towards achieving and maintaining good mental health. Services you will provide, but are not limited to, are counseling or aiding family members with assisting them in understanding, dealing with, or supporting the client. Providing supplementary counseling services for individuals undergoing intensive psychiatric treatment elsewhere in a mental health program. You will conduct and lead discussion groups dealing with a variety of family and individual concerns. Assisting in the planning and execution of mental health education programs for the general public and perform specialized educational and training functions within the clinical setting as designated. Minimum and Additional Requirements State Requirements: A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service, or social service program. Active Driver's License. Agency Requirements: This position requires graduate level coursework in professional ethics and psychopathology/psychodiagnostics. Preferred Qualifications Licensed with Post-Masters experience in a clinical setting. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
