Job Summary: The On-Site Counselor works with clients to help clients in Chrysalis' program succeed in navigating barriers they are experiencing that are impacting their ability to find and/or retain employment. They will provide one-on-one short-term counseling services to clients and will actively help clients build coping mechanisms to guide them through stressful situations. Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to: Provides short-term counseling services to assist clients in dealing with barriers to finding and/or retaining employment. Listen to clients' emotions, social, and behavior concerns in an open and nonjudgmental way. Support Chrysalis Employment Specialists in addressing clients' clinical needs, including thorough quality assurance reviews of case files. Create effective treatment plans that include, counseling or other services. Provides clients with additional outside mental health resources as needed. Attend meeting with staff upon request. Adhere to all Chrysalis policies and procedures. Support the Chrysalis Mission and Vision and model our Values. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Skills & Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent experience in psychology, social work, or counseling required; Licensure in a mental health/clinical background preferred (LCSW/LMFT). Minimum six months of experience working with justice-involved populations and/or six months of experience providing direct health, mental health, or case management services to complex populations, including clients with mental illness and substance use disorder. Interest in, experience working with, and sensitivity toward the Chrysalis client population. Superb verbal and written communication skills. Good time management skills. Computer literacy required. Must be proficient in Internet research, Word, Excel and database programs and be willing to learn other applications.
