Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a human services field with one year of experience working with adults with serious mental illness; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Certification as a QMHP-Adult preferred. The position requires excellent communication skills, ability to implement treatment goals in a recovery-oriented environment, strong organizational and time management skills, good judgment and ability to work collaboratively with consumers and staff in a fast-paced environment. Applicant will be able to work well with clients of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and cultures. Position also requires ability to document consistently, accurately, and timely in an electronic medical record. Preference is experience in and/or familiarity with psychosocial setting. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. Duties Progressive psychosocial program (Chester House) seeks Qualified Mental Health Professional - Adult (registered QMHP-A preferred, registered QMHP-Eligible at a minimum) to provide coaching and skills training aimed at restoring an individual's ability to manage mental illness. This position will utilize creativity and education to co-lead or lead the Business Unit, Dining Unit and/or Member Services Unit in a way that is fun, interesting, and engaging to members. Business Unit leaders share the responsibility of ensuring customers are greeted throughout the day and lunch/attendance billing is accurate and timely and may serve as backup for Medicaid billing. Dining Unit leader shares the responsibility of ensuring varied and nutritious lunches are prepared and served daily. Member Services Unit Leader ensures the snack bar offers a variety of healthy options. All Unit Leaders have additional responsibilities. Psychoeducational activities are geared towards improving life skills and social skills. Mental Health counselors work side by side with members to ensure skills are taught in a dynamic environment. Position requires ability to engage with consumers in developing and leading interactive psychoeducational groups. Psychoeducational groups promote a healthy lifestyle based on recovery principles, which includes education about wellness, mental health diagnoses, substance use and medications. Mental Health Counselors partner with consumers to develop objectives and interventions that will help them reach their identified goals. Completion of daily and monthly documentation, as well as development of Individual Service Plans with consumers requires utilizing electronic medical record. Rotating Saturday and Holiday coverage may be required. Must be willing to cover occasional Saturdays and Holidays as needed. Perform other work as required.
