The A. Linwood Holton Governor's School is seeking applicants to fill an adjunct part-time Medical Terminology vacancy. The Governor's School works with Southwest Virginia's four community colleges,17 school divisions, and E&H College HEALS program (lab school) to provide dual enrollment courses to motivated and talented high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. The Governor's School's Medical Terminology classes are taught as asynchronous virtual classes using learning management software provided by the school. The school is based at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, VA. Summary of Qualifications: Part-time adjunct teaching position. Must be eligible to meet requirements for community college credentialing for teaching Medical Terminology. Master's degree in the subject area or a master's degree in a closely related discipline with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the subject area from a regionally-accredited higher education institution is required. Teaching experience at the high school and/or college level is preferred. Strong technology skills preferred. For successful candidates work location is negotiable. Passion for teaching content and students is required. Reports to: Director of the A. Linwood Holton Governor's School Starting Pay will be based on the A.
