Medical Laboratory Technologist

Medical technologists, also known as clinical laboratory scientists, perform and analyze the results of complex scientific tests on blood and bodily fluids. These highly trained professionals work in hospitals and independent laboratories using sophisticated procedures and equipment. When test results are analyzed and completed, medical technologists collaborate with physicians or laboratory directors on patient data. A bachelor's degree in medical technology is required for entry-level positions. Qualifications EDUCATION & TRAINING: Graduate from an accredited Bachelors program EXPERIENCE: Minimum one (1) year clinical experience in a hospital setting LICENSES & CERTIFICATION: Bachelors Degree meeting State of Tennessee licensure requirement State of Tennessee Medical Laboratory Technician licensure Minimum satisfactory completion of clinical rotations in all departments of the laboratory
