Job Summary + The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is accountable for performing a variety of chemical, hematologic, microscopic and bacteriologic procedures following established standards and practices. + Data is used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic and Benedictine heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship. + Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Religious Directives. Education and/or Experience + Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist and one or two years of Medical Laboratory Scientist experience/training acceptable to ASCP or AMT. New grads acceptable. Licensure/Certification/Registration + Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from ASCP or AMT required within one year of hire. Work Schedule + Evenings Monday - Friday: 3pm to 11:30 pm + Every 3rd Weekend & Holiday Rotation: 11pm to 7am + Full Time; 80 hours every 2 weeks Pay The hourly range for this position is listed below.
