Position Summary The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs clinical laboratory tests by standard operating policies and procedures. As a MLS, you will understand method principles, performs quality control & calibrations, performs preventive maintenance, and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or a biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited institution Bachelor's degree with a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) in biology and chemistry, obtained within or in addition to the degree is also acceptable For non-CLS/MT degrees, one year of experience in a clinical laboratory is required Preferred: Certification as MLS, BB, C, H or MB by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency Other Information 40 hours a week Required to work rotating split shifts that consist of 11 am - 7:30 pm & 7 am - 3:30 pm Required to work rotational weekends Career Levels Availabilities / Growth Opportunities Great Benefits General Statement It is the goal of ECU Health and its entities to employ the most qualified individual who best matches the requirements for the vacant position.
