Medical Lab Scientist I

In this particular case, they have partnered with Logansport Memorial Hospital and are responsible for all laboratory functions and responsibilities for this facility. Being a community hospital, the greatest opportunity is for a relatively new scientist / laboratory professional to gain skillsets and experience that allow them to gain the title of Generalist. Community hospitals allow exposure to all bench testing, wider variety of instruments, equipment, regulatory and methodologies supporting ASCP criteria. Currently, they are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist I to support their second shift. Some daily responsibilities to be expected are: Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures -Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Assist with processing of specimens when needed Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Skills: blood bank, coagulation, laboratory, blood samples, calibration, clia, sop, sap Top Skills Details: blood bank About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
