Responsibilities Key member of the multi-disciplinary team providing consulting medical services with oversight of Medication Assisted Treatment and prescription of psychotropic medications for dually diagnosed clients. Medical services include admission history and review of physicals, coordination with the patient's primary medical provider for on-going medication management, determination of exceptions to HBFF formulary, and medical clearance for admission per policy. Employment will consist of 16 hours per week. Responsibilities will include signing of electronic medical records, participation in multi-disciplinary meetings, availability for consulting with clinical staff, and oversight of medical policies and procedures. Reports to the Hazelden Chief Medical Officer for overall medical supervision and the site Director for day-to-day operations. Coordinate facility's medical/psychiatric operations to ensure continuity of services, processes, and adherence to quality and compliance standards Provide medical consulting for medication management and review of admission medications for consideration of appropriate formulary medication to promote recovery from substances of abuse Issue orders for patient medical care and treatment, medication prescription, administration, and changes, and referral for medical evaluation/transfer to a higher level of care for emergency and urgent medical conditions that require hospital based care Work in consultation with intake counselors and addiction counselors to identify patients with co-occurring disorders Review and approve site specific medical policies and procedures in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer Qualifications Required Qualifications: Doctorate (MD) At least 5 years of physician experience in a health care facility Addiction related medical practice Must not have had a felony conviction or been incarcerated as a result of a felony conviction in the last three years Excellent interpersonal skills required to interact with all levels of associates and customers. Current license to practice medicine in state of Illinois Board certification in psychiatry ASAM/ABPM or ABAM certification or added qualifications in addiction psychiatry DEA certificate Preferred Qualifications: Previous medical leadership experience Min USD $232,294.00/Yr.
