PURPOSE OF POSITION Provide clinical, educational/training and programmatic oversight of the Family Justice Center Mental Health Program an innovative collaboration with the Mayor s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) at NYC s five Family Justice Centers, which provide co-localized multidisciplinary services for victims of DV, elder abuse and sex trafficking. The NYC H&H FJC Mental Health Teams consist of psychiatrists, psychotherapists and administrators who provide on-site collaborative psychiatric evaluation and treatment to individuals in situations of domestic violence (DV) who are accessing services at the FJC s

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Organizes a weekly supervisory meeting with H+H Family Justice Center Mental Health Team (FJCMHT) providers to review high risk, clinical cases and the application of evidence based practices to address the individuals needs.

Interface with administrative and clinical supervisors at partner H&H hospitals to facilitate support for the FJC teams

Interface with administrative directors and partner agencies at the FJC sites to facilitate support for the FJC teams, foster collaborative care for clients and respond to FJC-identified needs and concerns

Collaborate with City Hall (The Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence ENDGBV) staff related to FJCMHT programmatic needs.

Work with Central Office-Behavioral Health Services and other team members to develop and implement tools for program evaluation to assess the impact of the added clinical services provided by this initiative for clients of the DV center.

Assist in facilitating referral to H+H/non H+H clinics for more intensive psychiatric care or ongoing care after stabilization when appropriate.

Develop and implement an educational curriculum and training opportunities for FJCMHT staff on a weekly basis.

Participate in educational and supervision activities with ENDGBV.

Facilitate the implementation of groups, trainings and innovative clinical and educational modalities at the FJC s

Clinical responsibilities include support and coverage for the clinical teams, including:

Conduct clinical psychiatric evaluations of center clients referred by staff and collaborating agencies on-site at the Family Justice Center

Provide on-site psychopharmacologic treatment when appropriate for center clients.

Conducts supportive, cognitive, interpersonal or other evidence-based individual and group-based psychotherapies for clients and families, when appropriate.

Qualifications:

M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical or osteopathy school.

Completion of residency training in psychiatry.

ABPN Board Eligible

NYS license.
