Animal Clinic Downtown is seeking a Medical Director to join our amazing 13-doctor animal practice in Chattanooga, TN. You'll be joining a full service, collaborative team. In addition to joining our thirteen full-time doctors, you will be supported by a team of technicians, and our practice manager. We are a full service veterinary medical facility with two full-service clinic locations in Chattanooga, TN. The professional and courteous staff at Animal Clinic Downtown & Animal Clinic East seek to provide the best possible medical, surgical, and dental care for our highly valued patients. We go above and beyond to meet the strict requirements of AAHA, The American Animal Hospital Association, to maintain our accreditation for caring for companion animals. AAHA accreditation is sought voluntarily by only 15 percent of North American veterinary practices, and we are proud to be one of them.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key medical communication liaison between the hospital and area leadership.
  • Partner with the Practice Manager to manage the hospital as role models and champions of United Veterinary Care's brand to provide consistent high-quality care and unmatched client experience to the most pets and clients and to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Train the team on hospital guidelines and practices. Supervise and train the team to ensure compliance.
  • Teach and coach on case management, exam room communication, annual reviews and excellent client service and monthly doctor meetings (refer to doctor meeting best practices document).
  • Supports regular staff meetings and holds all staff accountable for knowing what has been discussed and how it impacts the health of the hospital.
  • Sets the medical vision for the hospital, advocating and ensuring medical quality with optimum client experience.
  • Works supportively with the hospital (practice) manager in understanding administrative and personnel issues while building effective teams.
  • Engages associate veterinarians by developing talent, creating collaborative relationships, and delivering consistent results.
  • Makes sound judgments and utilizes UVC leadership when needed.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
  • Active, or ability to obtain, TN license in good standing to practice
