Department Profile The TGH Psychology & Neuropsychology team provides assessment, consultation, and treatment for both adult and pediatric populations throughout the continuum of care. Psychology & Neuropsychology staff represent a high degree of specialization in treating individuals with medical, rehabilitation, and neuropsychological needs informed by a biopsychosocial model of care. Psychologists have key leadership roles within their multidisciplinary teams and participate in teaching, applied clinical research, and team building/support activities. Job Summary Tampa General Hospital Rehabilitation Services seeks a Clinical Health or Rehabilitation Psychologist to join our psychology team. Primary focus is on assessment and treatment of individuals with medical illness and acute traumatic injury (spinal cord injury, brain injury, orthopedic trauma and other medical conditions) within the context of a comprehensive multidisciplinary acute trauma program. Applicants should have training and experience in short term solution focused therapy, family therapy/interventions, behavioral intervention, acute pain management, psychological assessment, brief cognitive screening, and daily consultation with a multidisciplinary treatment team. Tampa General Hospital is the region's only Level I Trauma Center with a well established Psychology service. Psychology team members have the opportunity to supervise psychology students, pre-doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows. TGH is the primary teaching hospital for the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Applicants must have a Ph.D./Psy.D. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program, an APA approved pre-doctoral internship, and specific training and experience with medical populations. Prior training or experience with a medical consultation-liaison service and burn/trauma patients preferred. Current licensure/license eligible in the State of Florida required. Applicants must meet the credentialing guidelines for full medical staff membership. The ability to speak Spanish is desirable but not required.
