Medical Clinic LPN Pulmonary and Rheumatology Services Clinic Full-Time Days 3109 Bienville Blvd Ocean Springs, Mississippi, 39564 United States Position Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care established by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician. Assumes other duties as assigned. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides care utilizing the MS Nurse Practice Act, the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and Singing River Health System Departments of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services. As such, this performance evaluation is based on these standards. Education Graduate from an approved school of practical nursing. Current Mississippi State licensure. LPN has Mississippi Board of Nursing licensure for practice in the expanded role. Certification BCLS certification required. Experience Appropriate nursing practice/experience within the past three (3) years. Physical Demands Work involves regular requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves exerting a moderate amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, copier, and 10-key. Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires close visual acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision. Mental Demands Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities. Must demonstrate communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with moderate stress levels and still remain poised. Special Demands Must have a valid driver license as job may require traveling throughout the SRHS service area. Must have strong general computer skills. Basic knowledge and skill in using Microsoft Excel preferred. 1. Primary Responsibilities - Data Collection Collects specified data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
