About Us:
Basic Job Functions: A Mechanical Maintenance Technician will have a working knowledge of basic mechanical principles and possess practical experience as it relates to the mechanical maintenance function. Basic functions will include, but are not limited to:
- PM tasks such as lubricating
- Inspection and monitoring machinery
- Trouble shooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, power transfer mechanism such as coupling, gear boxes, belts and sheaves
- Basic metal fabrication including cutting, grinding, and welding.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Minimum Qualifications: - 2 year vocational or technical degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years prior industrial mechanical maintenance experience
- Project Management experience
- Microsoft Office experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Melt Shop/Caster or Rolling Mill Experience
- Experience with industrial hydraulic systems
- Experience with power transmission and machine assembly
- Experience with lubrication and bearing applications
- Leadership or Supervisory Experience
