Mechanical Engineer with Security Clearance

Clover Leaf Solutions, Inc. is looking for a highly skilled experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Shipping Container Recapitalization team as a structural analyst. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for performing structural analysis of radiological cargo and/or shipping containers that contain radiological cargo. The position will involve working remotely as well as on location at our Naval Nuclear Laboratory site at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA. What You Will Do: Hand calculations as well as finite element analysis to model fuel and container structural performance during a hypothetical accident event, including elastic-plastic analysis Support engineering and business activities of the Shipping Containers organization, including but not limited to performing engineering evaluations and generating written technical reports Required Qualifications: 10+ years of relevant experience Minimum four-year BS degree in engineering Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software including experience performing both static and dynamic, non-linear FEA Experience with Microsoft Office Experience with Advanced Structural Analysis Experience with Static and Dynamic Finite Element Analysis Ability to obtain L or Q Clearance Desired Qualifications: Experience with Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit or other similar FEA software Experience with Elastic-Plastic Structural Analysis Technical Writing experience Familiarity with radiological material shipping containers and/or Safety Analysis Reports for Packaging (SARPs) Familiarity with 10CFR71 Clover Leaf Solutions is a small business headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with key offices in San Francisco, CA and Pittsburgh, PA, and we are growing.
