We seek a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in avionics design, FAA
certifications, and rigorous testing standards. As a key member of our engineering team, you will
play a critical role in developing next-generation avionics systems and improving the safety of
many aircraft types. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term collaboration. Salary commensurate with the applicant's level of relevant experience and qualifications.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, analyze, and optimize avionics components and systems.
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, including DO-160 testing requirements.
• Conduct thermal and structural analyses to validate component performance under various operating conditions.
• Design and evaluate electronics enclosures for ruggedness, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
• Develop human-machine interface (HMI) solutions that enhance pilot experience and safety.
• Assess manufacturability, supportability, and reliability of mechanical designs.
• Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations to improve system robustness.
• Conduct failure analysis investigations and implement corrective actions to enhance avionics system reliability. Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in avionics design and development.
• Proficiency in DO-160 testing standards and FAA certification processes.
• Strong background in thermal and structural analysis using tools such as ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar.
• Experience in designing electronics enclosures for aerospace applications.
• Strong understanding of human-machine interface design principles.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials selection, manufacturability, supportability, and reliability engineering concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment.
