Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer. You will design and provide mechanical development support. Analyze first article mechanical samples, develop and/or revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings, and assist the engineering and quality department with data collection and root cause analysis from reported issues. The applicant will be involved with daily manufacturing and mechanical engineering support activities that will require their understanding of the manufacturing and engineering processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with manufacturing to solve mechanical related assembly, test, and piece part compliance issues.
Be able to generate and understand mechanical Bill-of-Material structures.
Listen to feedback and help capture quality, end-user, and market-based improvements.
Design and provide architectural support for digital communications systems involving portable, mobile, and base station equipment.
Work closely with the hardware team to provide design feedback based on manufacturing and performance requirements.
Generate detailed drawings and final documentation packages in CAD, verify design integrity using tolerance studies and execute engineering notices by updating drawing revision levels as required for product releases.
All duties as assigned by engineering department.

Knowledge & Skills:
Proficient with parametric design software (ProE/Creo preferred)
Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and Power Point required.
Perform inspections of first article samples of new parts and assemblies within the callouts of the inspection drawing
Able to collect, collate and analyze data sets in a problem-solving environment.
Ability to operate equipment to measure and calibrate parts and use machine shop equipment.
Knowledge and use of 3D printers
Solid knowledge in parametric design
Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
Good analytical skills
Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Confidentiality and time management

Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering
1-5 years product design experience.
Requires understanding of basic Engineering concepts including materials, fabrication methods, components, and development software.
Be familiar with CAD modeling concept and terminology.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
Work typically takes place in a normal office environment requiring sitting, walking, lifting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
Operate a PC and other office equipment.
Must be able to lift to 10 pounds.
Must be able to handle/use metal working machines and small hand tools.
Travel between floors and office buildings may be required.
Environmental conditions: noise, vibration, oils, solvents, chemicals
