BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Measurement Operator assists field personnel in the installation and maintenance of mechanical and electronic measurement equipment, witnessing of custody transfer meter calibrations. Applies skills in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of natural gas measurement systems. Provides guidance to the Field and Engineering staff in the implementation of and conformance to Company Measurement Policies. Works under minimal supervision. May assist with the orientation and training of less senior employees.

EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 5 years of related industry experience in measurement

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Possess the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions exist or are suspected

• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship

• Investigate measurement variances and prepare solutions to prevent further occurrences

• Under minimal supervision, complete and maintain measurement schematics and measurement reviews

• Under minimal supervision, install and maintain natural gas measurement equipment to Company standard

• Witness third party calibrations on check measurement stations

• Witness calibrations of custody transfer meters

• On 24 hour call for repairs at natural gas measurement sites

• Prepare System Balance reports

• Foster and maintain positive relationships with field personnel, landowners, and purchasers

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Oil and gas industry experience preferred

• Practice safe work habits at all times

• Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes

• Basic computer skills

• Basic understanding of gas industry terminology

• Working knowledge of applicable measurement standards

• Strong mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of maintenance and installation of mechanical natural gas measurement equipment

• Knowledge of maintenance and installation of electronic flow computer gas measurement equipment

• Knowledge of meter tube design and installation

• Knowledge of natural gas analysis and sampling procedures

• Team oriented, self-motivated and flexible to change

• Position requires operation of Company vehicles. Incumbent must maintain a clean driving record and adhere to Company policies
