As an MDS Nurse at Country Manor, you'll: Be responsible for all assigned MDS's, CAA's, and care plans on a timely basis as needed. Synthesize nursing care plan to meet resident's physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs. Complete RN Assessments as assigned. Will respond to appropriate Case Mix appeals. Will actively work with nursing staff to aid in the completion of all above items. Will keep self-current with in-services related to assessments, regulations and reimbursement. Attend Nurse Management meetings and other appropriate meetings as designated by the Director of Nursing. Assist the Director of Nursing in administrative matters where indicated. Will be responsible to know and comply with facility and department safety rules. Trained to handle Medicare billing. Follow and enforce established facility policies and procedures. Implement new policies and procedures as directed. Assume responsibility for personal growth and development by attending in-services and educational programs made available. Attend daily report and monthly wing meetings. Assists with auditing of documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and standards of practice are met. Assists with skin assessments and weekly skin rounds as directed. Assists with completion of clinical and reimbursement audits. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Current RN licensure in the State of Minnesota. Knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations relating to long-term care. Knowledge and understanding of reimbursement of skilled payors/insurances including but not limited to Medicare, Medicare Replacement, private and commercial health plans. Knowledge and understanding of the Minnesota Case Mix System, MDS process, care planning system and general resident assessment requirements. Strong nursing assessment skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team. Excellent organizational skills and time management skills. Must be in good mental and physical health and have a genuine concern for the elderly.
