Duties QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and be properly certified to meet Illinois Teaching License Standards. A Professional Educator License (PEL) with elementary endorsement required. Bilingual (Spanish) and math endorsements highly preferred. Three years teaching experience preferred. Displays quality work through accuracy and attention to detail. Displays strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. Has experience with Office Suite applications. Committed to continuous improvement and data based decision-making. Effective written, verbal and technology based communication skills. Works effectively and productively as a member of a team. Ability to work with a linguistically and culturally diverse public. Displays a strong knowledge of best practices in math. Strong knowledge of MTSS and the use of interventions. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning. Qualifications JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide math interventions for sheltered and general education students utilizing the common core/content area standards, social emotional standards, curricula, and materials adopted by the Board of Education. Collaborate with other school staff to monitor and enhance students' academic progress based on data and other performance indicators. Ability to blend direct instruction with e-learning opportunities. Progress monitor students and adjust instructional approaches and curriculum according to findings. Develop and submit lesson plans, as required. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations. Assist classroom teachers with the administration and/or monitoring of electronic tests, as required. Submit reports to the appropriate person(s), as required. Communicate with parents, administrators, and school counselors on student's academic and social progress and accommodations. Participate in curriculum and program development, and in the selection of materials and equipment to support instruction. Direct and supervise students, implement MTSS, and maintain discipline both in and out of the classroom during the assigned workday. Develop students' critical analysis skills through group discussions using a variety of mass media and literature. Use subject matter knowledge, teaching and learning, best practices, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices; follow and implement all district rules, regulations, practices, and policies. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality and personal flexibility in all areas. Continuously improve professional practices, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in the school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. Works cooperatively with all staff to deliver educational services relating to math instruction of children. Engage the learners in differentiated learning experiences appropriate to their skill levels and development needs. Encourage students to think independently and express original and creative ideas. Participate in parent math activities which promote math practice at home. Participate in/attend building and district meetings, as required and including PLC team meetings. Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or in self-selected professional growth activities. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Provides appropriate safety instruction. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be requested by the Principal or designee.
