Spectrolab, Inc ., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, and the world's leading merchant supplier of high efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems, is seeking Materials Growth Process Engineers to join our Semiconductor Engineering group. The positions are located at our manufacturing facility in Sylmar, California. We are seeking individuals with knowledge of semiconductor materials physics and growth techniques, as well as the ability to relate basic material and physical characteristics to device performance. Also, knowledge of design of experiment techniques, statistical methods for analyzing and correlating experimental data with measured data, and safe handling of chemicals and processing equipment in modern semiconductor labs is desirable. The chosen candidates would have experience in epitaxial growth and thin film characterization, with years of experience commensurate with the level of position. Experience with processes associated with semiconductor material and device characterization including but not limited to X-ray diffraction, X-ray reflectivity, Spreading Resistance Profilometry, Atomic Force Microscopy, etc, strong observation and documentation skills and ability to develop and maintain statistical process control (SPC) charts. They would have knowledge of data plotting using Matlab, Excel, JMP/Minitab or similar tools. Also, general computer skills with office productivity software such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. Position Responsibilities: Hands-on semiconductor wafer characterization and wafer handling
Develop and refine characterization and fabrication processes
Troubleshoot and resolve characterization and process problems
Work closely with senior technical staff to perform experiments and document experimental findings.
Collect and analyze experimental data
Perform database entry and data management
Support logistical efforts through procurement and management of consumables
Depending on experience, you will lead and drive creative research and development projects on epitaxial growth and thin film materials characterization, as well as design and execute experiments, analyze results and disseminate information effectively through discussion, reports and presentations Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate, Mid-level, Lead This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience): Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics
