In Season Schedule/Hours: Tuesday - Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Off Season Schedule/Hours: Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
The Marine Technician is responsible for providing expert level service to the Travis Marine customers by investigating, diagnosing, and repairing issues with boats in an efficient and accurate manner
Expertly diagnose a wide variety of issues based upon experience, analysis, and testing
Maintain leading-edge knowledge of marine diagnosis technology
Oil and oil filter changes, fuel filter changes, raw water impeller changes, spark plug changes, transmission/v-drive fluid changes, lower unit fluid changes, etc
Troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues in order to make repairs
Install accessories onto boats, such as docking lights, depth finders/GPS, bimini tops, underwater lights, stern thrusters, dual battery setups, etc
Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on a variety of boats/motors
Assist in the setup and testing of new boats
Ability to summarize and winterize boats of all brands
Be comfortable using a wide range of shop tools and equipment
Maintain a positive attitude and be a productive member of our team
Provide our customers with a positive service experience
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Be a problem solver and be willing to tackle anything
Any other tasks as requested by supervisor
Work on the water and docks is also expected
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, or crouch for extended periods of time and regularly required to walk
Qualifications:
High School education or equivalent experience
Understanding of electrical systems and wiring
Ability to communicate in a professional manner to our customers and associates
Ability to perform heavy lifting up to and in excess of 60 pounds
Ability to work both inside and outside
Higher level technical certifications preferred
