Description:

JOB PURPOSE: Manufacturing Engineering Technician works under moderate supervision to provide technical support to operations on a variety of engineering-related tasks including machine downtime, product problems, and quality evaluations. The technician would be the first line of defense in helping to resolve safety concerns, troubleshooting quality issues, and improve efficiencies in production. Additionally, it could include review of workflows, routings, floor layouts, material handling, testers, or machine utilization. Work could include repairing, maintenance or design of production testers.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:

  • Must be willing to continue learning new production methods by reading, studying, attending seminars, and participating in group discussion.
  • Aids in the planning and implementation of manufacturing engineering process changes or engineering design operations to support plant operations.
  • Prepares work standards and operator guidelines by writing or updating policies, procedures, and work methods under the supervision of the manufacturing engineer.
  • Performs troubleshooting and continuous improvement involving the repairing, modification, and testing of mechanical, electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, and production equipment.
  • Contribute to the overall team effort by providing support to production and manufacturing engineers on a variety of tasks.
  • Contribute to release and manufacture of new product by participating in prototype and pilot builds, design review and work method implementation.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required. 2 years of applicable technical college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment required.
  • Personal computer skills such as CAD, spreadsheet software, access or other database software.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Must adapt to changing situations and work tasking.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
