We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creating and overseeing efficient and effective manufacturing procedures to assist the Assembly and Machine shop with the assembly and machining of various components and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Develop machining programs for CNC machining centers, including milling, gear shaping, grinding, and turning
  • Choose and define tooling packages for all machine shop operations
  • Examine current manufacturing procedures and create new manufacturing methods to keep our manufacturing abilities optimized and current
  • Execute job costing analysis and make certain of the cost-effectiveness of manufacturing
  • Carry out motion and time analysis studies
  • Give suggestions for capital equipment and direct a team effort to prepare, research, and share cost/benefit analysis
  • Establish and guide long team planning for upcoming technologies and projects
  • Coach manufacturing engineering and ship personnel as needed
  • Assist projects and efforts of peer Manufacturing Engineers as needed
  • Partner with Design Engineering to inspect new product ideas and designs for manufacturability
  • Problem-solve production floor issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Give technical assistance to external machining and assembly suppliers as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • At least 10 to 15 years of related experience in a production manufacturing setting
  • Extensive experience designing fixtures, tooling, and jigs utilizing SolidWorks or comparable 3D modeling CAD software
  • Adept at creating CNC programs utilizing Mastercam or comparable CAM software
  • Extensive experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite to develop spreadsheets, databases, and documentation to assist Manufacturing operations
  • Proven track record creating machining procedures for ductile and aluminum casting and an assortment of alloy steels
  • Extensive knowledge of standard inspection gages, CMM's, and inspection practices
  • Progressive expertise in fabrication processes, welding, manufacturing methods, machine operation, and heat treating
  • Working knowledge and prior experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and SPC ideas
  • Skilled in geometric tolerance and dimensioning
