Manual Machinist Bend, OR PrideStaff, a recruiting firm specializing in staffing for Central Oregon businesses, is recruiting for a Manual Machinist for a well-established company in Bend. This role works a 6:00am-4:30pm schedule with second and third shifts available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Machining of tooling and components for production equipment
- Sawing material to size
- De-burring and measuring parts
- Operating manual machine tools including lathes, mills & honing machines
- Operating ID/OD grinding equipment once proper job training has been completed.
- Detecting worn or broken tools, changing inserts and tools
- Presetting tooling
- Indicate surfaces, dial in items chucked in lathes
- Participate in manufacturing optimization, assist in work holding development, suggest program
- optimization, and detect needed changes in feeds/speeds by ear, eye, and feel.
- Advanced blueprint reading is essential to being able to perform this job, as is keeping detailed notes
Qualifications - Must be a high school graduate, and possess good math skills; adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
- Additionally, must be able to write clearly and communicate with ease. Exceptional problem-solving skills and excellent eyesight with or without correction is required.
- The successful candidate must be an experienced operator of manual machine tools, including lathes and mills.
Physical Demands The employee must frequently lift and/or move weights of 35
to 75 pounds. Also required to climb ladders, retrieve materials from storage, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $22.00 Per
