The Position Summary: The Manual CNC Lathe operator specializes in manual machining operations using a CNC lathe machine, including setup, tooling, material handling, and quality inspection. This position is full time, Monday - Friday at our Hubbard, Oregon location.

Wage: $25 - $35/hour DOE

  • Set up manual CNC lathe machines for machining operations, including tooling selection and workpiece loading.
  • Operate manual CNC lathes to perform turning, facing, threading, and drilling operations on various materials.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate machining.
  • Monitor machining processes, make adjustments, as necessary, and perform quality inspections to verify part dimensions and surface finish.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines, such as tool changes, lubrication, and cleaning, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Proven experience as a Manual CNC Lathe Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of machining tools, materials, and techniques.
  • Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming is a plus.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating machinery and handling tools.
  • Adequate vision, including close vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate colors, for reading blueprints, inspecting parts, and operating equipment.
  • Exposure to loud noises, dust, and coolant fluids in a manufacturing environment.
  • Adherence to safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
