Job Description

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities

Supervise and develop all lifeguards to ensure staff are well trained, thereby creating a safe environment for all those who use facility.

Responsible for the scheduling of all lifeguards, including backup for unexpected absences(s).

Ensure that pool area is safe at all times.

Clean and sanitize swimming area. (all chairs, tables, railings, bathrooms).

Ensure that the pool area is clear of equipment and debris.

Ensure that all equipment (ie. railings, ropes, pumps, etc.) are in good working order, and provide repair/replacement as needed.

Communicating F&B orders.

Communicate daily with members to connect members to other members through ongoing contact with the members and promotion of club activities.

Perform close of business functions following guidelines and procedures established by the Club.

Notify supervisor of member/guest complaints at the time they occur. Rectify, practicing service recover, any complaints as soon as possible.

Additional Responsibilities

The Pool Manager is responsible for operating the entire swimming complex facility, the swimming pool employees, and the safety of those who use the facility. They have the financial responsibility of the aquatics programs.

Adhere to all of the various company, club, and department written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job.

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with proper grammar.

Hire and supervise all pool personnel to ensure the staff are well-trained and create a safe environment for those who use facility.

Conduct in-service training drills bi-monthly to maintain safety standards.

Clean and sanitize swimming pool (includes cleaning pool & backwash filers, skimming pool surfaces, and checking that chemicals in pool are at ideal levels).

Ensure that all equipment (ie. railings, ropes, pumps, etc.) are in good working order, and provide repair/replacement as needed.

Procure chemicals, equipment, and supplies as needed.

Oversee all programs created for the aquatics department.

Pool Manager reports to the Sports Club Director and General Manager

Compensation:

Work Experience: 2 - 3 years experience in pool operation & aquatics

Education: High School or Undergraduate

Certification: County Pool Operator Certificate, American Heart Association/Red Cross CPR/AED, Red Cross Standard First Aid, WSI Certified, must be certified in Nassau County, NY
