An Exciting Opportunity at the Nexus of Politics, Energy, Technology, and Sustainability:The Manager of Regulatory Government Relations in Washington, DC USA - Schneider Electric will have an opportunity to develop and implement Schneider Electric's government relations strategy in the United States by serving as a vital link with federal and state/local governments, policy-makers, organizations and thought-leaders on topics such as the future of energy infrastructure, clean energy, energy resilience, cyber-security, smart manufacturing, and climate/sustainability. Building upon Schneider's footprint across North America and Schneider's vision for de-carbonization, sustainability, and an all-electric world, the Manager will work to enhance Schneider relationships and policy positions with key state and local legislators and their staff and critical industry organizations to promote a business and policy environment that is more favorable to our growth objectives and our vision for sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Responsibilities will include:
•   Develop and execute a targeted strategy for government relations to support the Chief Public Policy Officer and the Federal and State Government Relations Team Leaders, with a focus on environmental regulations at the Federal level and in key states, including California.
•   Create a heat-map of existing or emerging climate and environmental regulations and coordinate internally with various functions to ensure awareness and positions.
•   Establish regular communication and coordination strategy internally at Schneider Electric (including with Schneider's Sustainability Business and Sustainability Research Institute)regarding Federal and state climate policy impacting the company related to the environment Circularity, Recycling, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
•   Support the Team Leaders for both Federal and State Policy, and specifically support the GR Manager for California, with active intelligence, recommended policy positions, and support advocacy effort as well as internal coordination to optimize alignment.
•   Engage in effective advocacy and communications with key federal and state/local government officials, partners, NGOs and associations to help advance Schneider Electric's broader government relations strategy.
•   Position Schneider Electric as a leader and trusted partner on Federal and State policies that combat climate change and support sustainability and the energy transformation, including grid modernization, EV infrastructure, infrastructure modernization, and decentralization and the new energy landscape.
•   Design focused meetings for key executives - primarily the Country President - to grow and strengthen Schneider's relationship and influence.
•   Support advocacy strategies to build closer relationships on priority topics while raising awareness of Schneider's role in job creation and domestic economic competitiveness.
•   Create and organize targeted events in DC or target states and on panels at major events to strengthen brand and voice on the topics.
•   Create policy position papers on key climate topics and create core messages for thought leadership and media outreach that connect to policy-specific outcomes.
•   Attend and lead engagement with climate/sustainability or energy working groups in key associations and coordinate with other team members working on cross-cutting issues.
•   Engage directly with the Global leaders in the company to support their understanding of USA markets and regulations.
•   Conduct an analysis and heat map of state climate policies and environment regulations and compare and contrast them to federal legislation.
•   Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders from multiple relevant functions in the company, including key Business Units, Global Supply Chain teams, or Human Resources.
•   Lead regular updates and communications to a cross-functional community on topics related to regulations need to specify some things here
•   Drive and manage key deliverables from consultants and sponsored associations.
•   Attend and staff committees in trade associations to drive outcomes relevant to the team strategy.
•   Bridge business development and policy opportunities to reach new growth targets. Location : This role is based in Washington, DC, and it involves occasional travel to key states or conferences.

This position may be right for you if you:
•   Have 1 - 3 years of experience covering energy, environment, technology, and/or climate policy working on Capitol Hill, in a state legislature, a government agency, local industry association, or state/local NGO experience;
•   Have experience drafting or analyzing Federal or state regulations impacting the energy and environment sector;
•   Are eager to gain private sector experience and sharpen skills in business and corporate strategy;
•   Enjoy socializing, networking and facilitating connections;
•   Excel at managing numerous projects as a contributor and self-starter;
•   Are organized and excel at creating and implementing systems;
•   Have excellent written and oral communication skills (a writing sample will be required);
•   Have experience in electrification, clean energy, or new energy landscape;
