We have a great opportunity for a qualified Manager, Oil Processing and Offloading, with a background in oil processing as well as experience managing plant operations. This role is responsible for the supervision of people, operations, and the coordination of various functions. Effective management of outcomes and timelines is critical to success in this role. Management of employees and processes in accordance with policies, procedures, current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, governing the Facility, to ensure that it is operated effectively, efficiently, and safely is essential to success in this role. This position is located in the Miami, FL office of Cliff Berry, Inc. (CBI). Essential Duties: Oversight of daily activities of Miami Plant personnel. Including, but not limited to, managing hours worked, OT hours, and discipline and coaching as needed. Supervision of staff which involves indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selecting, training, motivating, performance evaluations, developing goals and developing procedures to ensure achievement of goals. Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures as necessary to ensure the safe & effective operation of the facility, its personnel and equipment. Assure that all staff attend the required training in hazardous communication and safety as established by OSHA. Conduct OJT for employees in proper work practices and continuous safety inspection control on a regular basis. Record and report plant incidents. Implement procedures to prevent re-occurrence of plant incidents. Conduct monthly safety meetings. Develop, evaluate, and maintain preventative maintenance programs on all facility equipment, storage tanks and the physical plan. Develop subject matter expertise in all areas of the Miami Plant facility. Oversight of all Oil operation/ Offloading operations to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards. Also ensure all Oils meet Used Oil and customer specifications. Proper evaluation of each Oily waste stream entering the Facility for processing / disposal to ensure compliance with its corresponding profile documentation. Proper documentation of various oil streams received at the facility for processing or disposal. Performs QA / QC procedures on waste streams and used oil. Interact with visiting regulatory authorities. Perform audits with third-party plant customers. Coordinate purchase of equipment and supplies as necessary or as may be required. Develop operational and safety documentation of all Plant equipment. This includes a formal manual for each piece of equipment. Ensure all operators using Plant equipment are trained, and properly signed off on, in accordance with approved operational and safety plans. Creates all necessary management reports. Ensures P.O.s, Work Orders, Invoices and all billing activities and related tasks are completed within CBI timelines and to standards of accuracy and detail. This includes working in the CBI SAP system. Oversee all new technologies for processing of all oily waste streams to ensure the best up dated technologies are being utilized. Help create new customer base for oil products being produced. Oversee tank cleaning operations in the assigned work areas. Required skills: Ability to supervise personnel and activities. Provide continuous feedback and coaching to personnel to increase productivity and maintain accident-free safety record. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Understand and perform basic sample testing Organize activities in order to complete tasks in accordance with priorities, address multiple demands, or meet deadlines; ability to organize tasks and working environment to maximize efficiency. Focus attention on tasks, which may be complex, routine, or repetitive, without losing concentration or becoming distracted by external activities; adapt to interruptions, instrument/equipment failures, unusual demands, or changing priorities. Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control checks required to ensure validity of data. Perform routine equipment checks and completing related records and reports. Skill in development and implementation of treatment processes in oil processing plants. Design and execution of preventative maintenance plan Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives The ideal candidate: B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Petro-Chemical Engineering and/or a combination of five years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment, hazardous materials disposal, non-hazardous waste treatment disposal and used oil treatment. Five (5) years of experience in Used Oil Processing with knowledge in the following areas: the principles and practices of petro-chemical engineering, and wet chemistry; waste acceptance criteria in compliance with all regulatory standards; the principles and practices of industrial wastewater treatment; and discharge parameters for all water streams in compliance with all regulatory standards. Wastewater experience is a Plus. Mechanical knowledge of fluid transfer, oil-water separator, DAF, Clarifiers, piping, pumps, pumping systems and air stripping units in the processing of wastewater treatment. Working knowledge of relevant sampling, analytical, data management, and equipment maintenance techniques.
