A bit about us:

A top accounting consulting and advisory firm is looking for their next Senior Manager to join their growing Accounting Advisory team. This Manager will provide various accounting advisory services including, but not limited to, IPO and M&A Readiness, CFO Advisory, SEC Compliance & Financial Reporting, Transaction Advisory, Technical Accounting Research & Position Papers, and addressing the need for continuous improvement and optimization of the finance and accounting functions. In addition, the ideal candidate has a strong desire to build and maintain a book of business in the future.

The ideal candidate is a Senior or Manager out of public accounting or Audit/Advisory looking to transition to a normal work schedule and make an impact on day-to-day operations. Someone who worked in public accounting audit or assurance and transitioned to industry is also the ideal fit (if interested in moving into advisory). If the candidate has a CPA and no experience working in public accounting but has progressive growth working for a consulting firm or the required skills as a Manager in Advisory, that is also a great match. A CPA is also required.

This role is hybrid (in the office 1-3 days/week) to be able to meet with team members and clients as needed. They have offices all over, but for this opening, their office is located in Denver, CO.

Job Details

As an Advisory Manager, SEC Reporting, you will:
1. Oversee the preparation and filing of all external financial reports, including 10-Q and 10-K filings.
2. Ensure compliance with SEC and other regula tory requirements in all financial disclosures.
3. Research and analyze new and proposed accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards issued by the SEC and other regulatory bodies, and effectively implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
4. Provide technical accounting guidance and support to other departments within the organization, ensuring that all financial information is accurately represented.
5. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requests, and aid in the research and response to audit inquiries.
6. Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
7. Assist with special projects as needed, including any potential mergers and acquisitions, financial system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in SEC reporting, technical accounting, or public accounting/advisory.
3. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
4. Experience with financial statement preparation and consolidation.
5. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to a variety of audiences.
