Job Title: Manager, Configuration Management Job ID 11324 Job Location: Mason, Ohio Schedule: 9/80 Alt Job Description: The Configuration and Data Management manager is responsible for the overall CM/DM infrastructure to ensure a consistent product performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life. The CM/DM manager will oversee the hardware and software CM group. Additionally, how CM/DM relates to the technical documentation of all products. Oversee and develop CM/DM planning, identification, change control, status accounting, and audit
Work with internal and external customers to analyze CM/DM issues
Work with internal and external customers to analyze and support audits and corrective actions
Create Basis of Estimates for future program work
Provide advice and guidance on methods, procedures, and requirements to individuals responsible for the creation of documentation
Provide CM/DM process training to entire organization
Review metrics and perform audits to ensure CM/DM processes and procedures are efficient and effective.
Coordinates, directs, and monitors deep dive and root cause analysis to identify opportunities to improve process and create efficiency
Oversee Data Management responsibilities
Resource management and planning.
Lead team of 12 employees
Provide regular labor and resource planning to support programs and activities.
Actively support all phases of hiring activities for the team
Support management of morale and work to proactively mitigate attrition.
Support succession planning and identification/development of key talent. Administration and management of employees.
Carry out performance management and goal setting of all direct reports, both formal and informal. Provide meaningful, constructive feedback to ensure the development of each staff member.
Lead performance improvement plan formulation and execution as needed.
Proactively support reward and recognition activities for the staff members. Develop and submit merit recommendations during the yearly merit review cycle.
Perform conflict resolution between teammates as required.
Career development of employees.
Take an active role in the professional development of each staff member. May include identification, guidance, and support of formal training, on-the-job training, mentoring, and/or new program assignments.
Proactively mentor, coach, assist, and/or provide additional help to engineers in the analysis, design, build, integration, test, validation, verification, documentation, and/or maintenance of products.
Foster an individual and team culture of Continuous Improvement (CI)
Understanding of principles of EIA-649
Expert use of CAD and PDM tools such as SolidWorks, Expedition, AutoCAD, I-Deas, etc.
Expert use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools such as Costpoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to drive change in a technical work environment
Excellent coaching, mentoring, and team building skills Qualifications: Requires Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 9 years relevant experience or graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Previous leadership experience.
Ability to obtain a Security Clearance from the US Government which requires US Citizenship.
Expert knowledge of CM principles and EIA-649 CM Standard Preferred Additional Skills: CMPIC certification
